Even for the same instrument, the volume and the size of the move change depending on which session it is in. Knowing in advance where the sessions change over and where they overlap explains why stop losses get grazed so often only in certain time bands.
- The Asian session often forms a narrow range.
- In the European session, moves that break out of the Asian range appear frequently.
- The US session is crowded with major data releases, so the spread widens easily.
- Broker server time is what is used to judge the hours. Do not confuse it with local time.
